MyPropertySpy is your free guide to the prices of property in your area – or the area you're moving to – throughout the UK.
Here you can search for details of all the property transactions in your street, district or town – hard facts to arm yourself with before starting your property sale, purchase or remortgage.
You can input your postcode to find details of all property sales in the immediate vicinity of your home, or you can use our advanced search to look up your district or town for a more general picture.
You can also refine your search by entering your street name or by selecting specific dates, tenure and property type.
The search results will show the addresses of properties that have sold, together with the exact date and price.
MyPropertySpy shows you the prices achieved by properties which have already been sold.
This gives you a guide to the likely value of your home, but other factors such as exact location, state of repair and property market trends could mean that your property is worth more or less than your neighbours'.
MyPropertySpy covers the whole of England and Wales. We hold details of residential sales dating back to
1 April 2000.
All our data is supplied directly from the Land Registry – the government agency in charge of all property transactions and ownership in England and Wales.
Occasionally, there are discrepancies with their data, so if you find an error please email us and we will let them know. (MyPropertySpy disclaims all errors and omissions made by the Land Registry.)
We add data to our site as soon as the Land Registry send it through to us. It can take two to three months for sales to be registered.
This means that very recent sales may not appear on our site yet.
There is no limit to the number of searches you can make.
The Land Registry have given us a license to provide their information on our site. Information about property prices is not restricted by the Data Protection Act, since the individuals involved in the transactions are not identified. However, there are strict guidelines about how you can use the information. You can:
- Search the data for your personal use
- Publish the data for non-commercial use (in small quantities)
You must not publish large amounts of data, and you must not sell any of the data for profit.
The Land Registry can help if you have any queries on how you can use their data.
No, there are no payments required for any of our information – ever – it's all completely free of charge!

I know of a recent property sale that's missing from the search results
Our data is taken directly from the Land Registry (the government agency in charge of all property transactions and ownership in England and Wales), and is updated constantly.
However, it can sometimes take some months for the solicitors acting in a property transaction to lodge the details with the Land Registry.
This in turn delays the supply of the details to MyPropertySpy.
Keep checking MyPropertySpy for new updates to the information about your area. Why not
set up an email alert, and we'll automatically send you details of any relevant new property sales added to our records.
There are also certain types of property transaction that are not included in the Land Registry's data. Their records cover sales of single residential properties sold for full market value.
Sales not for full market value, sales to companies, sales including other land, commercial and agricultural sales, and sales of council properties for a discounted price, etc. are not included.
All the property sales shown are quite old and the prices are out of date
It may be that there simply have not been any property sales in the area recently. MyPropertySpy has records only of actual sales that have been completed, and we can't speculate about prices.

We provide you with all the information supplied to us by the Land Registry (the government agency in charge of all property transactions and ownership in England and Wales).
Unfortunately, they don't carry any details about numbers of bedrooms, whether the property has a garden, etc. on their records.
